‘Home Delivery Available’

An independent (financial adviser’s) view

I remember when milk, bread and fizzy Corona (I know) were delivered weekly, as well as the box of groceries from Walton Hassell and Port. Yes, everything in that sentence is a ‘kids etc.’ 40 years later, Tesco realised it had been a good idea and started delivering shopping. Now you can’t get a slot with a supermarket for love nor money, the local guys are back. Hats off to Rob of coffee shop Lynwood and Sally of Burford deli Mrs Bumbles who are both keeping afloat and filling a very big hole with boxes of milk, bread, fruit and other essentials. “Why most won’t need to worry about IHT on pensions”

Many a government has made the point that only a minority will be affected by this or that tax change or tinker. It is, however, both perception and aspiration which are important, and they are what makes IHT the ‘most hated’ of all taxes – along with all the others, of course.
