The Christmas break has always been, for me, the only real break. I can properly forget and ignore everything business-related, being sure that no one else is working and none will expect replies to anything for a couple of weeks at least. In other ways it has always been a triumph of hope over experience. I see in my minds eye non-festive and family time I can use for stuff, planning, reviewing and such, for which there is never time in the normal rough and tumble of the working week. For better or worse, it rarely happens. My tax return, which I’ve always, even in less prosperous days, been happy to delegate, is not and would never be on that list. OK, some don’t celebrate, but as a way to fill some empty hours I think even a Christmas Special or two would be preferable. Mrs Brown’s Boys aside.
“2024 a mixed year for sustainable investing, report finds”
lthough in theory the environment (pardon the) for sustainable/ethical/responsible funds improved significantly last year, the performance of many did not. Excluding oil/mining/guns/fags all hampered their performance in the aftermath of Ukraine.
