Uber and Out

An independent (financial adviser’s) view

Mentioning Uber to a ‘proper’ London cabbie is lighting blue touch paper with nowhere to retire to. You’ll hear about the Uber driver who followed his sat nav down the steps into the tube, the one who couldn’t read enough English to understand road signs, how they get away without hours on a bike doing The Knowledge etc etc. My guess is that Sadiq Khan and the TFL execs, whom I’m sure have to get cabs all the time, were worn into the ground by them and decided the grief they’d get over the Uber-ban was worth it for a quiet journey.
